Tony Williams non è stato solo uno dei più originali e influenti batteristi della storia del jazz, ma un raffinato compositore ed un visionario leader. È a questa figura multiforme che Roberto Gatto ha pensato di dedicare il suo nuovo progetto. “Un’altra sfida appassionante, sono molto felice di lavorare a questo progetto su uno dei miei punti di riferimento, un innovatore, ma sopratutto un grande band leader e compositore.
Tony Williams rappresenta quanto di più completo ci possa essere stato nella scena del jazz a partire dagli anni ‘60. Onorato di poterlo omaggiare insieme ad un gruppo di straordinari musicisti ed amici”.

Tony Williams was not only one of the most original and influential drummers in the history of jazz, but a refined composer and a visionary leader. It is to this multifaceted figure that Roberto Gatto has decided to dedicate his new project. “Another exciting challenge, I am very happy to work on this project on one of my reference points, an innovator, but above all a great band leader and composer.
Tony Williams represents the most complete artist there could have been in the jazz scene since the 60s.
I’m honored to be able to pay homage to him together with a group of extraordinary musicians and friends.”
